Assistant Professor Dr. Yaman Sokienah.

Dr. Yaman Sokienah is an interior design educator and researcher. He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Design at Yarmouk University, Irbid-Jordan. He is holding a Doctorate of Philosophy in Consumer and Design Sciences/Interior Design at Auburn University, USA. Dr. Yaman specializes in the role of architectural and interior design identity in the era of cultural globalization.

Dr. Yaman truly believes in making the world a better place through design. He was influenced by the work of Christopher Alexander in “The Nature of Order” and has conducted research on the concepts of Quality of Life and Living Structures. The relationship between architectural theories and traditional architecture influenced him to do further research into the methods of developing the design process to create Living Spaces and keeping Place Identity. These influences motivated him to study the symbolism of design and its contribution to peoples’ interior environment.
