Dr. Amjad Abu-Baker received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Mexico State University, USA in 2012. Since then he has been at the Yarmouk University where he is an assistant professor in the Department of Telecommunication Engineering.
Dr. Abu-Baker specializes is wireless communications and networking. Specifically, he is interested in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). His research interests include maximizing lifetime, minimizing energy consumption, designing linear programming models for power-aware routing in WSNs, and studying the impact of jammers in WSNs. He is using optimization techniques to extend the lifetime of the sensor networks using renewable energy as a power source.
Dr. Abu-Baker is also interested in communication systems and signal processing area and employing mathematical techniques from estimation theory, optimization principles and numerical analysis in conducting research.
Dr. Abu-Baker is a member in the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and IEEE Communication Society.
