Biography

Dr. Amjad Abu-Baker
received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Mexico State University, USA in 2012. Since then he has been at the Yarmouk University where he is an assistant
professor in the Department of Communication Engineering.

Dr. Abu-Baker specializes is wireless communications and networking. In particular, he is interested in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). His research interests include maximizing lifetime, minimizing energy consumption, designing linear programming models for power-aware routing in WSNs, using renewable energy as a power source, and studying the impact of jammers on WSNs. Further, he is employing optimization techniques, green communication, adaptive modulation, and energy-efficient coding to prolong the lifetime of the WSNs. Besides, he has integrated WSN with UAV to maximize the lifetime of the UAV-WSN systems.

Dr. Abu-Baker is a member in the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Communication Society, and IEEE Information Theory Society.
