This course is designed for the mater students of health services management to provide the necessary tools and techniques of health economics; develop systematic and rational approach to solve the economic problems in health care organizations; and, empower the health care professional in predicting economic issues and evaluating their consequences. It emphasizes the accessibility to health care to all population, the ability of population at large to buy their health basket in an affordable price at minimum cost and less time. It may includes the process of cost containments, efficiency, enhancing quality and productivity, basic economic concepts and tools, physician behavior, market strategies, profitability and manage scarce of productive recourses, government financing of health care, health care reform, and the roles of insurance

This course is designed to introduce the master students of health services management program to the fundamentals of financial management in health care organizations. It encompass numerous examples from health care providers, and the integrated health care systems. It will assume a variety of teaching and learning methodologies i.e., essays, readings, understanding performa and presenting a variety of case studies, imperial studies..etc. The course will emphasized the financial management function in the context of overall organizational management. And, covers Financial Information, "accounting", financial statement, rate setting, hospital payment methods, cost analysis through treatment of agency of costs and their effects on financial decision making.

This course is designed to provide the master students in the health services management program with the working knowledge of health information systems and computer applications in clinical, administrative, and educational settings. It covers a wide range of topics i.e., data acquisition, transmission and interpretation; numeric analysis and graphic representation of data; use and application of structured database systems; and Internet-based communication and collaboration. Also, the non-technical issues that may be raised by application of computer and information technology in health care will be examined and critically assessed.

AttachmentStrategic Planning and Health Services Management
Course Description: This course is designed for the health services management mater students to provide the basic concepts, tools and techniques in strategic health planning and management realm. This practical course will introduce the students to major steps of strategic planning formulation; which may include the strategic vision, mission, goals, objectives in addition to the structure and design of health care organization, organizational control, organizational environment, strategy and strategy planning and change and innovation.  Specific cases will be associated the formulation of strategic plan to exemplify the importance of strategy-driven health organizations (macro and microenvironment analysis) to all managerial levels; what should be done (strategic goals and objectives); and, how (processes) and by whom strategic planning to be done (execution).  The course will emphasize the ethical perceptive in strategic health plan formulation and operational implementation.

This course would practically expose the students to research framework: Introduction (problem definition, hypotheses formulation, objectives setting, specifications …etc.); Literature reviews: (secondary data collection, learnt lessons from countries experiences); Research design: (study population, sample size and sampling methods, research instruments, conducting research, primary data collection and management); Data tabulation and analysis; and, Summaries and recommendations. The course emphasizing the development of writing and presenting of academic applications similarly to student professional research arena.

Course Description: This course is designed for the master students in the health services management program to introduce the organizational and behavioral theories for application in diverse work- place. The focus of the course will be on the contextual organizational structure in the health fields, today's health organizational behavior, individual performance and behavior, health teams and teamwork, influences processes and leadership, and transformational reforms and developments. Special concerns will be over contemporary issues in health service organization and governance; performance measurements and improvements, challenges faced by the management of health services and responsibilities of improving productivity, quality assurance, and design positive organizations in the future.
