Prof. Alyassin earned his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with the highest honor (summa cum laude) from St. Mary's University, and received his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Texas Health both at San Antonio, Texas USA. Post-graduation, he obtained extensive research and industrial experience while working as a senior medical imaging scientist at the Global Research Center - General Electric Company, New York. His passion for teaching attained him copious academic experience at national and international universities. He taught at Universities in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the USA. Currently, he is a full professor at Yarmouk University teaching Medical Physics and Physics courses.

          Prof. Alyassin holds many international patents, published several scientific publications, and presented his research at various international conferences. Among his many achievements, he was awarded the golden medal for patent-invention at GE and is green belt certified in six-sigma.   Furthermore, he was an ABET Accreditation Champion, cofounder and former president of the Jordanian Association of Physicists in Medicine, and passed the American Board of Radiology Exam (Medical Physics - Part-1). His research interest is in Medical Physics, Medical Imaging, and Radiation Measurement and Detection. ​​​​
