Ø B.S. degree with a Summa Cum laude in Electrical Engineering (1989) from 

St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX USA

Ø Ph.D. degree in Radiological Sciences – Medical Physics  (1994) from the

University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX USA

Professional Experience:

Academic Experience: (2002 – Present)

Ø Held an associate professor faculty position at universities in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, & the USA

Ø Taught several Medical Physics, Physics, Electronics, Computer Graphic courses, & supervised clinical training and senior engineering projects in Medical Physics (The courses were taught in the English language)

Ø Served as a chair and a member of several department & faculty committees


Industrial Experience: (1994 – 2004)

Ø Held a senior professional medical imaging scientist at

General Electric – Global Research Center  -  NY,  USA

Ø Worked on state of the art projects in medical imaging and 3D visualizations & was awarded the golden medal patent invention (given to inventors with  >  20 patents)

Ø Recipient of the Dushman Award, which is the GE-GRC's most prestigious team award

Certification:  (Aug 2011)

Ø Passed the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Exam Part-1 (General and Clinical)


Ø Published over 25 scientific publications

Ø Filed over 25 patents internationally

Ø Wrote several object oriented software classes (open source) used internationally

Current Research Interest:

Ø Diagnostic & Therapeutic Medical Physics, Imaging Biomarkers, Quantitative Imaging, Medical Image Processing, and Radiation Physics.

Personal Information:

Ø Speak, read, and write fluently in English, Arabic, & Italian
