Dr. Ghina'a Abu Deiab
Since September, 2019 Ghina’a Abu Deiab has been a faculty member at Yarmouk University. Ghina'a is teaching and doing research in both Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. In particular, her group is working on the synthesis and biological evaluation
of medicinal agents. Besides, the group is working on studying "teaching methodologies" linking Medicinal Chemistry/Organic Chemistry and
Ghina'a earned her B.S. in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2006. In 2010, she earned her M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from the same university. In 2012, she went to University of North Carolina at Greensboro to pursue a Ph.D. in Medicinal Biochemistry in the group of Dr. Mitchell Croatt. She focused her graduate research on the synthesis and biological evaluation of neuroprotective agents against ischemic stroke and a resaerch on a novel decarboxylation reaction. Ghina'a successfully defended her thesis in 2016 and then went back to Jordan to start her independent academic career as an assistant professor at Applied Science Private University in February, 2017 till September, 2019.
Aisheh Aljaber studied a BSc in Chemistry at Yarmouk University and graduated in 2019. She worked on the synthesis and reactions of thiocarbohydrazides during her undergraduate study. She also volunteered with ChemoPhiles group for one year. Aisheh joind our group in November, 2021.
