Alaa Al-Makhzoomy, Ph.D. works as an Assistant
Professor of Learning Design and Technology at the College of Education at
Yarmouk University of Jordan. He has become the Head of Department of Academic
Programs at the eLearning Center and Open Educational Resources at Yarmouk
University beginning September 2020. Prior to that he worked as the Assistant
Dean of Education for Quality Assurance between September 2019 and September
2020.
While Alaa was pursuing his Ph.D. degree in
Learning Design and Technology at Wayne State University, He worked there as
an Instructional Technology Designer at the Irvin D. Reid Honors College. He
defended his dissertation in October 2018 which was titled
"The Effect of Game Development-Based Learning on the Ability of
Information Technology Undergraduates to Learn Computer and Object-Oriented
Programming".
Alaa, received a Master of Education with a
major in Learning Design and Technology from Wayne State University in Winter
2017. He received his first Master’s in Computer and Information Science from
Cleveland State University in 2010. Ever since, he has been teaching many
disciplinary subfields of Computer Science and Information Systems at various
institutes in Jordan and the U.S.
