Ahmad Mahmoud Alshamali
received his BSc degree in electrical Engineering in 1983 from the University
of Jordan. He worked as a communication engineer for two years in the special
communication commission in Jordan and as a project engineer in the National
Jordanian Electricity Company in Jordan
for four years. Between 1990 and 1993 he worked as a teaching assistant at
Yarmouk University where he was awarded a scholarship to pursue his graduate
studies in the UK. He received MPhil and PhD
degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Wales, Swansea in 1994
and 1996, respectively. Since 1997 he has been with the Department of Communication
Engineering, Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Yarmouk University,
Irbid, Jordan, where he is currently an associate professor. His research
interest includes performance evaluation of mobile radio systems, compression
of biomedical signals, mobile
telemedicine systems and the effect of mobile phones RF radiation on human
health. Alshamali received Hisham Hijjawi award for Applied Science,
Information Technology and Communication sector for the year 2003.
